About Therapy

Therapy made a difference for me.

Many years ago, I was in a dark tunnel, unsure of my path. I did not tell anyone what I was going through.

Eventually, I committed to receiving counseling because I understood that this was a time for me and about me.

After many weeks of therapy, I began to experience all that was good about myself. This therapeutic journey led me through a dark tunnel and into the bright sunshine at the end of the tunnel.

I told myself I had to go through the experience to get to where I am today.

Healing and growth are possible.

Think of therapy as a time to address issues that plague you and learn how to overcome the obstacles that keep you stuck.

When we work together, we focus on you and your needs to foster growth and healing. Initially, clients usually experience many emotions as they address their concerns, gain self-awareness, develop new coping techniques, learn to become comfortable with change, and have the power to create the joy of New Beginnings.

When you work with me, our relationship will foster trust and safety. The security you feel allows you to be open about expressing complex emotions in a welcoming and supportive environment and build achievable, successful goals. Sometimes, you might experience setbacks or resistance during therapy, and that’s normal. Change can be frightening, and growth is slowly realized.

The good news is that you will experience growth, resilience, personal power, increased self-awareness, and grounding throughout the process. As a result, you will begin to love yourself and all your emotions, be honest with yourself and say how you feel, love your imperfections, and reward yourself frequently, no matter how small.

Outside of my work, my life is complete.

I am a divorcee and am remarried to my high school boyfriend. Because I walked so quickly, my son encouraged me to run the marathon. I walked seven, 13.1 miles, one 26-mile marathon, and the Georgia Peach Tree Marathon. I had to stop the Georgia Peach walk.

The hot July temperature has become unbearable. Therefore, I practice yoga, like listening to a broad genre of music, and reward myself daily with gratitude and embrace all my imperfections.

I have a grown daughter, son, and three grandchildren. I enjoy and treasure every moment I share with my family and friends, listening, reminiscing, and engaging in fun banter filled with positive optimism and curiosity.

I also have two beautiful Golden Retrievers named Zelda and Izi.
